Construction Work Reflection: Publication and Target Audience

My article is for the Hull Daily Mail, as it is about the construction work taking place in Hull, which is a local story.

Hull Daily Mail has a circulation of ‎40,000 and above (Hull daily mail, 2016), so a local issue such as the construction work may attract many people, as the construction work in Hull has to do with the people in Hull and not people from London or outside Hull in general.

My target audience for this article is adults. This is because it is an informative issue rather than entertainment based, which would be more suited for children and young teenagers. As well, the language I use is not slang which is more for young people, but instead I use sophisticated language, such as ‘however’ instead of ‘but’.
