Personal Branding

On 08/03/2017, we looked at the importance of personal branding and it’s importance as a journalist. In order to discover how journalists have created their personal brands, i conducted research on Rory Cellan-Jones, BBC correspondent.

He has 2 different Twitter accounts – his formal account to do with his work, and his formal account to do with his personal life. He does this in order to accomodate different audiences and it encourages people to make great contacts, share information and promote content.

It is also useful as users may like to get to know the person behind the story

In a video he states that “You shouldn’t say anything on social media that you wouldn’t say on 5Live” (BBC 5Live).
